ZoBio (www.zobio.com) was founded in 2004 in Leiden, Netherlands. We offer innovative research services in the field of small-molecule drug discovery to the pharmaceutical and biotech industries. Our international team of over 40 people covers different areas of pre-clinical drug discovery expertise.
We are looking for a motivated self-starter to strengthen our new Data and Information Sciences (DISC) group. The group manages the operational IT infrastructure and supports ZoBio’s research groups with (scientific) data analysis and data management.
Your main responsibility is supporting the development of ZoBio's IT infrastructure to efficiently capture and process research data. Additionally, you may become involved in the development of AI and ML based processes to develop new innovative services for our clients. As a member of a small team, you are comfortable and willing to take on odd jobs, such as answering IT related questions of research staff and supporting IT operations management. You deal well with changing priorities, without losing sight of the big picture. As the second person to join a strategically important team you are excited by the opportunity to shape the group and its role in the organization.
A successful candidate will become a permanent and integral member of the ZoBio team after an initial 12-month contract.
Start date: Position immediately available.
TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide project teams with scientific data analysis and data management support.
- Work in close collaboration with the internal project teams and external partners to develop and integrate line of business data management and analysis platforms and (lab) automation solutions.
- Provide our business development and finance department with business analytics support.
- Support maintenance and development of the IT infrastructure.
- Identify and implement structural improvements, new technologies and services.
EXPERIENCE
- MSc degree in IT- or STEM subject and demonstrable experience with (scientific) data engineering, analysis, and management.
- Comfortable with Python and VBA/PowerQuery in Excel.
- Knowledge of other programming/scripting languages is a plus.
- Interest in or knowledge of AI/ML is a plus.
- Experience with database management.
- Familiarity with the drug discovery process is helpful. A willingness to learn is required.
