Meet the Team: 

Each of our SPR machines brings unique strengths to the lab, earning their names and personalities for how they support our research. These workhorses are the true heroes of our lab, capturing precise data 24/7 to deliver results our clients can trust. 

• Terry (T200) may be a bit old, but he is often the first one in. He’s perfect for assay setup and initial feasibility work, testing out which protein construct works best (Protein Sciences). With Terry’s versatility, we can even tackle intricate kinetic studies with absolute accuracy—no shortcuts, just results. 

• Known for his precision and sensitivity, Kenny (our 1S+) is the team’s detail-oriented detective. When we’re running assays that demand the highest sensitivity, Kenny tackles complex samples and zeroes in on every interaction, no matter how faint. 

• Brandy (8K+) is the team’s beast, built for high-throughput screenings and swift turnarounds. With her speed and efficiency, Brandy ensures tight timelines are met without compromising quality. She’s ready to take on large compound libraries (Fragment Screening and Compound Profiling) and keep things moving smoothly. 

• Sandy’s versatility (BC4000) makes him our “jack-of-all-trades,” adaptable across various buffer types and molecular profiles. Whether it’s characterizing binding specificity, affinity, or kinetics, Sandy handles each task with reliability and consistency. 

• And then there’s Mandy (8K), our night owl. Mandy is designed for endurance, running back-to-back assays during overnight shifts and handling extended kinetic experiments, like chaser assays (Stay tuned for more updates on our Chaser Assay-exciting developments coming soon) or cycles of compound profiling. Her stamina keeps our research moving forward, long after the rest of us have clocked out.
